Professional Makeup & Photography
All of us have those rare pictures that make us think, “Wow! I look great!”
It could be your clothing, your hairstyle, or the perfect combination of lighting and right angle.
We all want to feel good about ourselves once in awhile. It doesn’t really matter whether the picture was taken with a professional camera or a friend’s phone in a club.
The photos I consider perfect were taken on my wedding. This was the first professional makeup I’ve had done in my life, and I can’t remember looking prettier. My makeup artist didn’t try to change me into someone I am not. It was just that my image matched what I imagined myself as.
It was the best version of myself, and I loved that.
By offering the same experience to your clients in photography, you will be able to provide them with better images, which will improve their experience and increase your sales.
When Should You Use a Makeup Artist for a Photoshoot?
You name it: family portraits, engagements, Boudoir shoots seniors, weddings headshots… You should definitely consider having a professional makeup artist do the woman’s makeup if she is in the picture.
List the reasons for my list:
1. Confidence: When your subject looks her best from the outside, you can expect her to be confident and ready to show off everything on the inside. It can be a great way to help clients who are camera-shy.
2. Vendor Relations: It is always a good idea to cultivate good relationships with other vendors. You can collaborate on a future styled shoot.
3. No one is better at makeup than a professional makeup artists. Let them choose the colors and sheens which will photograph best.
4. Save time in post-production – the better the makeup of your client, the less editing you’ll have to do after the shoot.
5. Better Sales – When the client feels “awesome” about how they appear in your photos (rather than just “okay”), you’ll have an easier time selling prints and other products.
