I am the first to admit I am a camera equipment junkie. I treat my old and new camera gear like it’s a baby.
You may need to clean the camera lens at times, just like you would your TV, monitor or glasses. The glass of your camera lens will get dusty and grimy eventually if you don’t have a filter.
Here is a quick tutorial on how you can clean your camera lens.
This kit is my favorite (listed at B&H Giottos Lens Cleaner Kit with Small Rocket Airblower), because it contains everything I need, and the price is reasonable. I’m pretty careful about my gear and don’t shoot in places with a great deal of dust, sand, or dirt, so I do not need to use a lot.
Do this in a dust-free environment. Paper towels have fibers that can stick to the lens. Use only the lens cloth.
Then, dab the tip of the swab on the backside of your hand. The swab should be just barely damp.
