THE EXPOSURE TRISANGLE
The “exposure triangle”, or formula, is used every time you take a photo. Like the three sides/angles of a triangle, there are three ISO measures how sensitive it is to light.
Examples:
- Outdoors in sunlight = ISO 100
- Outdoors in overcast light = ISO 400
- Indoors = ISO 800 or higher
A film camera would need to adjust the film for each light condition. If you are using a DSLR and want to take pictures in bright sunlight, you can change the ISO to either 100 or 200. You would change the ISO to 100 or 800 if you went back inside.
